Healthy mulled hot apple drink
Healthy mulled hot apple drink (non- alcoholic apple cider)
I would like to end the year of 2014, and start the year of 2015 with a toast to YOU with my healthy mulled hot apple drink (non-alcoholic apple cider).
This healthy mulled hot apple drink is perfect to serve guests as a welcome drink on New Years eve, or enjoy a cold winter morning. It is originally a non- alcoholic version; If you need something else; see tip section below.
The good thing about this healthy mulled hot apple drink is that it is not too sweet and low in sugar. It contains no unrefined sugar, and it is propped with healthy benefits from all the yummy spices.
Healthy mulled hot apple drink (non- alcoholic apple cider)
Apples and spices belong to the festive season. Here they come in a beautiful combination that is very easy to make and yummy!
Ingredients:
6 dried juniper berries
2 dried cinnamon sticks
6 dried cloves
Grated lemon peel (1/2 lemon ecological)
1.5 deciliters water
1 liter of apple juice
0.5 decilitres orange juice or grape juice
1 apple, chopped
1 tablespoon acacia honey
For serving:
Dried cinnamon sticks or cloves and slices of orange.
Method:
- Crush juniper berries, and have in a saucepan along with cloves, cinnamon sticks, chopped apples and lemon peel. Pour the water into the pan and bring to boil. Simmer approximately 5 -10 minutes.
- Add apple juice and orange juice, and bring to boil. Add the honey and stir until dissolved.
- Serve in mugs or glass that can withstand heat and garnish with orange, dried cloves or cinnamon stick in each mug.
Tip! If you are legal age, and want to serve a “grown-up” version of the healthy mulled hot apple drink you may add some booze. I would recommend Calvados as a first choice, as it is also made of apples. Or you can try something else on your favorite list.
It is the last day of the year 2014! My 2014 have been eventful and busy in many ways, especially the last part of the year (which unfortunately has led to less frequent blog posts). I want to let you know that I am truly grateful for all my readers, and I hope that you will continue to drop by in 2015 for more healthy cake and healthy bake inspiration. I promise you that I have many healthy cakes and bakes up my sleeve!
In 2015 I will share even more healthy and innovative cake and bake recipes with you, here on That Cake Chick. I will also share all kinds of healthy recipes on my new website Arlen (which I will tell you more about later. It will launch in January 2015.)
I wish you a Happy New Year with all the best for 2015! May it be filled with joy, laughter, good health and of course healthy cakes!
